PNSC chairman’s dual charge holding goes un-noticed

Law enforcement agencies including National Accountability Bureau (NAB) yet not have taken any notice of the dual charge holding by Rizwan Ahmed a BS-22 officer belonging to Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS). PIA management bans CBA activities

Supreme Court did not order for staff dismissal: Mushahid Ullah The management of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) has imposed a ban on union activities through Essential Services Act 1952, which is violation of Basic Human Rights and Industrial Relations Act 2012. Senator Sherry Rehman a member of Senate Standing Committee on Aviation referring towards this ban said the present management of PIA which mostly consists of serving officers of Air Force who are brought on deputation into the PIA, is taking unlawful actions against the Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) that is the only elected body which represents the low grade employees. The actions of management are entirely in violation of the basic Human Rights and Industrial Relations Act 2012. PIA employees sacking: non-professional attitude

Termination of 121 employees from Pakistan International Airlines including Pilots, cabin crews and low ranking staff by the non-professional management has become laughing stock. Another 377 disciplinary cases were pending against various classes of employees in the PIA for submitting fake or tampered with educational documents, according to the airline spokesperson. On 7 th May the Senate Standing Committee on Aviation called upon the PIA management. The committee met for the sixth time to discuss the issue of PIA employees. Most of the committee members held that terminating staff from service was a drastic action. The Committee referred to the 12 employees who were allowed to retain their jobs in 2017. “If PIA took a lenient view for some, its management should show similar compassion to all its employees and retain them, instead of laying them off. PNSC affairs demand NAB attention

The Chairman, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) Rizwan Ahmed who had purchased two South Korean-built tanker ships, MT Bolan and MT Khairpur in January 2019 by paying $4.3 million (PKR 60 crores) above market price has been rewarded by appointing at another lucrative post by authorities in Islamabad. Now he is also the Secretary Maritime Affairs in addition to his earlier charge of PNSC. According to reports the pair was valued at $56.4 million while the PNSC had forked out $60.7 million for 2012 and 2013 built vessels. Sex education to primary and secondary students will spoil society - Parents

British government legislates to teach Sex Education from September 2020 The parents of the children in Pakistan schools affiliated with western countries have expressed their grave concern over the sex education and curricula being provided without their consent and any approval from government authorities and the parliament. In this regard they referred the British government’s legislation that from September 2020 it will teach Sex Education in primary schools and Relationship & Sex Education (RSE) in secondary schools. The new legislation would require all students of 4 to 16 years age to attend these classes. Their schools do not have to wait for September 2020 however, to start teaching RSE and many have already come to do so.
